The brief was to come up with an animation that demonstrated the benefits of brain storming and sharing ideas. However as AstraZeneca is an international comapny and this was for an international staff development conference they didn’t want any dialogue in English or any other language. So the storyline had to translated via the characters expressions and voices without using any decernable language.
We took the story board and produced a sound design and ‘script’, then worked with 4 actors in our studio and produced a range of different ‘dialog tracks with different accents to help identify the different nationalities taking part.
Once we had that we put together a sound track that teh animator could then develop the characters with. We then bounced the video and audio back and forth several times adjusting the timings of the various sequences until everyone was happy. Finally we chose and added the music and other sounds and the job was done.
Fantastic work. Amazing what you accomplished in those couple of days.

Seven radio producers – all based in the north of England – have joined forces to launch a new co-operative venture – ‘Radio Wizards’. It’s equally remarkable that their aim now is to work together on every kind of sound production... except radio!
"It’s taken over a year to get to this point," says ‘wizard’ Mike Thornton, "but now we’ve got a viable business plan, we’ve launched our website and we’re already starting to attract commissions. As a facilities provider we decided to facilitate this partnership and set them up with a web site to help kickstart this excellent partnership."
