If you don't have your work backed up then you are living on borrowed time. Some even say that if you don't have 3 copies of something with one off site then you don't have it at all!

Hardware Options

There are 3 ways of storing backups
1. Tape based - Exabyte, AIT, DDS, etc. Slow and fairly expensive
2. Optical disk based - CD-R(W), DVD-R(W), MO disks etc. - ver slow and can be expensive.
3. Hard drives - this is becoming the only viable option as hard drive prices have come down so much that the price per Mb is similar to other backup forms. Go to our
ProStorage page for more info.

Toast Titanium product page

For CD & DVD archiving there is an application called Toast Titanium. You need to be very thougher with making sure you have all the necessary files collected together but then Toast makes it very easy to burn them to a disk. However this is a 'snapshot' style of backup, it isn't incremental backup. The only way you can do this is to use an application that will update your backup with the latest versions of each file and then use Toast to make your backup disk.
