Wow, what a lot has happened in the few months since Pro Tools 10 and Pro Tools Expert were launched on the same night with that marathon web forum. We announced the plan to create a new Pro Tools Expert site and with Phase 1 we produced a mini site and a Pro Tools Expert Twitter feed.
With phase 2 we produced an aggregated site as a start towards providing a worldwide Pro Tools community with a true ‘one stop shop’ for news, reviews, tricks & tips for the beginner and expert alike, whether for music or post applications.
Now we have phase 3 a fully integrated site that will give you that fully ‘one stop’ Pro Tools experience where we can concentrate on our respective skills and take out the duplicated effort. As Eric Johnson, Community Development Manager for Pro Tools Expert said “You lose nothing - as a matter of fact, you have much to gain, including support for the post production community, our podcast and much more. One thing that may happen is that some links may not work as they should, can we ask a favour, please contact us, then we can put it right. Some of the other platforms such as YouTube, Facebook and other external platforms will be transitioning as soon as we can, but please be patient as this happens. Our commitment remains, to give you, the Pro Tools community, top tips, tricks and news. Welcome to Pro Tools Expert!”
So what does that mean to Pro Tools for Media? Well the long and the short of it is that this will be the last active post here. All future posts will be on the new Pro Tools Expert site. We have created categories there so that if you only want to follow Post related posts then you can, we have a Post specific RSS feed which I am hoping will be seamless for those using the Pro Tools for Media RSS feed but if for some reason it doesn’t work out then just subscribe to the new Post feed on Pro Tools for Expert.
As to all the posts here, they have been moved across to the new site so should be searchable there. But I will be leaving this here for the foreseeable future so you will be able to come and search for answers and for anyone who has linked to content here those links will continue to work.
Thank you to everyone who has taken the trouble to post comments here, you have added so much to this site and I look forward to continuing that on Pro Tools Expert.
So long live Pro Tools Expert.
